Gemeente Tourism Diksmuide

Market Square

The Market Square has been a trading place since the 13th Century and that tradition is still alive with the weekly market on Monday morning. On Saturday afternoon, there’s a farmers’ market which offers more local products. Diksmuide is also known as the “City of Butter”. You’ll notice that we have a “Butter Hall” and our yearly “Butter and Cheese festival”.

The statue of the “Little Man from the Moon” is the symbol of Flemish humour, while the statue of General Baron Jacques reminds us of the Battle of Diksmuide in 1914.
