Four Days of the Yser | Wed 19 August 2026

The "Vierdaagse van de IJzer" (Four Days of the Yser) is an international march organised by the Belgian Defence, welcoming participants of all ages. To ensure the event grows as a family-friendly occasion and to introduce young people to Defence, shorter routes are offered each year. The 8 km loop, ideal for families with young children (including strollers), features various animations along the way. In addition, there is plenty of festive and musical entertainment. Besides the different walking routes (32, 24, 16 or 8 km), the traditional commemorative ceremonies also take place.

The "Four Days of the Yser" is held every year at the end of August, with the walking day in Diksmuide on Wednesday 19 August.
