Ferry services on the Yser

Use our two free ferry services across the Yser during your trips in and around Diksmuide. These are accessible by foot or bicycle or by wheelchair :

So two seasonal ferries operate:

one between the IJzerdijk near De Fot'Oeil and Rapestraat in the Blankaart area
one between the IJzerdijk near the Dodengang and the Galileiwegel on Beerstblotestraat

Bicycles and wheelchairs can also be taken across.

Timetable for 2026 (subject to change):

The ferries operate only:

From 4 April until 28 June inclusive: weekends, public holidays, and bridge days (6 April + 1, 14, 15, and 25 May), from 2 pm to 5 pm
From 1 July until 31 August inclusive: daily, 7 days a week, from 11 am to 6 pm
From 5 September until 27 September inclusive: weekends, from 2 pm to 5 pm

Student workers take care of the reception and the crossings.

The ferry services in DIKSMUIDE in 2021/2022/2023/2024 are being established with the support of the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development LEADER.
