QR Experience Walk “Love in Cheese Light”

Anyone who missed “Lumineus Diksmuide” during the spring holiday can still enjoy the story “Love in Cheese Light”. Thanks to QR codes, you can experience this unique story at several locations in the centre of Diksmuide, organised on the occasion of 50 years of the Butter and Cheese Festival. The QR experience walk runs from 1 April to 30 September 2026.
Through videos that you watch on your smartphone, you follow the story of the bitter cheese farmer André and the sharp-witted student Zita, who travel back to 1976 to give a lost love a second chance. A story of butter, cheese and above all a deep love for the city.
Zita, played by Eline Dedeken (#LikeMe), is a smart but impulsive student, and André, played by Kurt Defrancq (Chantal), is a bitter old cheese farmer who has lived for fifty years with regret over a lost love. Zita decides to give André a second chance using the unfinished invention of her grandfather: a time machine. Together they travel back to 1976…
The walk takes about one hour and starts in the courtyard of the city hall. At each location you scan the QR code to watch the videos. The scenes are in Flemish, but if necessary you can follow subtitles in Dutch, French, English or German on your smartphone via the translate button. You will need a smartphone or tablet with mobile data and possibly headphones or earphones to watch the videos. A route map can be found on this page or picked up at the Tourism desk. This walk is free and takes you past several charming locations in the historic centre of Diksmuide.
