Gemeente Tourism Diksmuide

Town Hall

The Town Hall has been renovated between 2014 and 2016. The original architecture has been restored to its full glory and has been complemented with modern features that fit the contemporary needs. The first Town Hall of 1428 became a Neogothic Town Hall around 1880. After the destruction of the Great War (1914-1918), the Town Hall was rebuilt in 1923 in the regional Flemish renaissance style. The Belfry Tower in the courtyard symbolises the urban freedom.

Since 2015, you can find the Tourist Office in the renewed side building of the Town Hall. We also have a “Treasure Trove” in our basement. There are lots of objects, paintings, photographs that show you the history of this town and the whole region. Entrance is free! --> The Treasure Trove is currently closed due to the installment of a new exhibition. The opening should be on May 16th if everything goes well.
