Surroundings

Diksmuide is a town in the province of West-Flanders, in the Westhoek Region - also known as Flanders Fields. The town is situated on the river the Yser and the Handzame canal. We are only 20 kilometres from the coast and other towns such as Ypres, Poperinge and Veurne are closer than you think!

Diksmuide has 14 rural parishes. Each village has its own church and a has rural feel to it, which makes them really charming.

In the Flemish ‘Westhoek’, there are about ninety villages surrounded by stunning landscapes. But there are fifteen villages that are a little bit different from the rest, the so-called ‘Charming Villages’. Three of them are situated in Diksmuide: Lampernisse, Sint-Jacobskapelle and Stuivekenskerke.
